WSUS Product Team thoughts, information, tips and tricks and beyond :-)
WSUS Admins,
Just a heads up that MS08-053 (KB954156) and MS08-054: (KB954154) have been revised today. You will see new revisions for both in your WSUS synchronization results, and the WSUSscan.cab will be re-released as well. For further details on the revisions, please see the bulletins: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-053.mspx and http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-054.mspx
Thank you,
The WSUS Team

I have asked previously directly via email and the TechNet Forums yet we WSUS Admins have yet to have the following 3 KB's updated or further information regarding these updates so these three keep us WSUS Admins with our 'Heads Down' rather than 'Heads Up'. :P
Windows Server 2008 CORE x64
KB955305 Silverlight is not and should not be reoporting for Core (All 3 Core Machines Affected)
KB953631 Restart Last Known Good... Will not install on Core (All 3 Core Machines Affected)
Windows Server 2008 GUI x64
KB948014 WSUS SP1 3.01 Dynamic Install will not deploy on any Server 2008 GUI Enterprise (All 5 GUI Machines Affected)
Cheers,
Stephen
Would it be possible to flag revisions as being different from previous notifications?
Especially as on the latest update report, KB954154 and KB954156 are shown more than once (for the same platforms).
This creates confusion amongst the techs in my company who sometimes administer WSUS if I'm absent.
And while this might not be the appropriate place to mention it, is there any reason why updates can't be listed alphabetically on the e-mail - going up and down the list of updates can be tiring when it runs to several pages...
In case you missed the announcement , the WSUS product team has released new revisions for MS08-053 (KB954156)
i tried to install my windows updates 4 differt times and each time i was promprted with unable to install tempory files full and i dont know what where or how to free space for neww files with out erasing or damaging computer
XPS Security Center or Windows XP Professional's security center (WindowsXPS2) have somehow damaged my new laptop. I only download the MiicroSoft Genuine Advantage and now everytime I try to uninstall the Fake(Windows XPS security center I can't}. It won't even let me uninstall in the add/remove program. As an elderly, handicapped lady I am so hurt. Microsoft replied to my request to uninstall this by sending me a (link to use only one time) the email stated "this is no any of our programs). Why would they allow some nut to use their trademark, identical web pages to untrained eyes info. Please someone help me out of this desolate condition. I miss my blogs & use of the laptop. How this got on my computer is a mystery .
What is up with KB948014?
"Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP1 Dynamic Install for Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition"
It shows as needed on all my x64 Server 2008 machines, but none of them have the WSUS role installed and when you log into them Windows Update shows no updates are necessary.
Um, help? I'd rather not flat out decline it in case we add a WSUS x64 Server 2008 server in the future. Thank you.
