Voilà un message que l’on pense ne jamais écrire mais tout a une fin !

Il se trouve qu’après avoir suivi et participé aux tribulations de Vista - Windows Server 2008 puis Windows 7 et Windows Server 2008 R2 chez Microsoft et participé à ce blog (et d’autres) depuis près de 5 ans, je vais quitter Microsoft dans les prochains jours.

Vous ne me retrouverez donc plus sur ce site mais pour ceux qui souhaite ne pas perdre la trace, vous pourrez me retrouver via les multiples réseaux sociaux, notamment les suivants :

Ce n’est donc qu’un au revoir, j’en suis sûr !

Important Release Information:

Light Touch Installation(LTI) based deployments should use Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows 7 RC (build 7100).
Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) with System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 Beta should use Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows 7 RC (build 7100).
Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) with System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 should use Windows Automated Installation Kit v1.1.

Nouveautés Hyper-V dans Windows Server 2008 R2 RC

Voici 2 énormes nouveautés qui arrivent avec la Release Candidate :

Support de 64 processeurs logiques (64 LPS)
Mode de compatibilité des processeurs pour la live migration (Processor Compatibility Mode for Live Migration): permet la prise en charge de différentes version de CPU du la même famille de processeurs, plus besoin que vos machines en failover clustering disposent de caractéristiques identiques de processeurs (même architecture, même version)
- Processor compatibility mode is very straightforward. It enables live migration across different CPU versions within the same processor family (i.e. Intel-to-Intel and AMD-to-AMD). However, it does NOT enable cross platform from Intel to AMD or vice versa. It works by abstracting the VM down to the lowest common denominator, in terms of instruction sets, which enables live migrations across a broader range of Hyper-V host hardware.

The table below shows which Windows operating systems can be upgraded to which editions of this release of Windows Server 2008 R2.

Note the following general guidelines for supported paths:

In-place upgrades from 32-bit to 64-bit architectures are not supported. All editions of Windows Server 2008 R2 are 64-bit only.
In-place upgrades from one language to another are not supported.
In-place upgrades from one build type (fre to chk, for example) are not supported.
If you do not see your current version in the left column, upgrade to this release of Windows Server 2008 R2 is not supported.

Ce matin avait lieu chez Microsoft France dans Paris, une réunion de formation sur Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008 R2 pour nos clients early adopter (programme TAP). Nous en avons profité avec Julien (Chef de Produit Windows 7 pour l’entreprise) pour aller faire avant une petite vidéo de démonstration “dans la vraie vie” de DirectAccess (avec le poste de travail Microsoft IT) côté utilisateur.
