My wife was asking me this morning as we waded through the people in the Dundrum Shopping Centre picking up the last of the Christmas gifts to send back to my nieces and nephew in Canada what I wanted for Christmas. I told her that had already expressed my desired gift (nothing) but she thought I meant a shirt from www.sheldshirts.com.
I thought I had not left any clues to things I wanted, but realized I was singing the praises of this site last week as I watched my favourite US TV show, "The Big Bang Theory". This show simply rocks! A show for the geek, about the geek and singing the praises of being a geek. Now these guys are Doogie Howser smart, having gotten Ph.D's at the age of 20. But the fact they online game, have robots and utilize technology for every aspect of life makes this my favourite show. One of the interesting side aspects of the show is the great t-shirts worn by the characters. www.sheldshirts.com is a fan site showing many of these shirts with links as to where to purchase them.
I have no problem admitting to the fact I am a geek, I am genuinely excited by new technology and all things gadget. I have taken to wearing t-shirts that proudly display my geekiness over the last 2 or 3 years. Microsoft make a few good ones available through our company store and at different conferences through out the year, Additionally I look at sites like www.thinkgeek.com for new shirts. The best one I have seen from them is the Wi-Fi locator t-shirt. I heard a rumour that TechNet Ireland will be giving these out throughout the year at different events and through the web site.
I also recommend the online custom shirt service at www.zazzle.com in the US. I used them last year to create team shirts for my development team in my last work place. They have create templates or allow you to upload custom artwork.
