Cool Hyper-V Registry Settings

Andrew Auret is one of our hot shots MCS consultants in the UK. He emailed me earlier with some bits and pieces with regards to Hyper-V and sent me a really handy tip! Well like any handy tip I do like to pass it onto the community at large!

Cool registry entries in the Child guests under “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Virtual Machine\Guest\Parameters” – Here you have access to:

HostName
PhysicalHostName
PhysicalHostnameFullyQualified
VirtualMachineName

You can write a custom script and use these to display as part of BGInfo. As I have !
