64-bit - Query performance

There are clearly a lots of advantages on going to 64-bit. Read my previous blog on advantages of 64-bit SQL Server 2005. There were few cases where they found out that the query performance was bit slower in 64-bit vs. 32-bit, but that depends on type

Why 64-bit?

Why 64-bit? Memory Addressability: A 32-bit system can directly address only a 4-GB address space. With 2 GB reserved for the operating system by default on 32-bit Windows, only 2 GB of memory remains for the application (in this case, SQL Server 2005).
