    Please make sure to update your bookmarks and RSS feeds to the new blog location, so that you can stay up-to-date on Microsoft Intune. Our social channels have also been updated, and you can now find us on Twitter @MSIntune and on Facebook at /MSFTIntune.

  • Windows Intune to be renamed to Microsoft Intune

    Today we are announcing that in its next major update, coming later this year, Windows Intune will be renamed to Microsoft Intune.

    This change reflects Microsoft’s ongoing strategy for Intune as a cloud-based mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) solution.  The “Microsoft Intune” name more accurately represents Intune’s capabilities, supporting both iOS and Android platforms, in addition to Windows. It is also in alignment with our commitment to embrace the new dynamics of the workplace, and increase employee productivity by enabling them to work wherever and whenever they want on any device, while helping IT keep corporate information secure.

    Intune is included in the Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) which is Microsoft’s comprehensive and cost-effective solution for addressing consumerization of IT, BYOD, and SaaS challenges. The suite also includes Azure Active Directory Premium and Azure Rights Management.

  • Welcome to the new Intune blog!

    Hello, Intune Fans!

    My name is Pat Fetty, and I manage the newly formed Customer Advisory Team (CAT) which is part of the Enterprise Client and Mobility division at Microsoft.

    The CAT team provides a variety of functions in the mobility space, from helping customers with Proofs of Concepts (PoCs) for Intune, VDI and Azure RemoteApp scenarios, to providing technical support for Intune. We are an extension of the engineering team and we work closely with enterprise customers on designing and deploying these solutions.

    To better inform and empower Intune users all over the world, we’ll be using this blog to share practical technical content about deploying enterprise mobility solutions, as well as providing you with more in-depth knowledge on how these solutions can benefit your business.

    Looking ahead, there are a wide variety of topics that we plan to highlight on this blog – from current features to future enhancements coming in the next wave of the Intune service. Here’s a quick sneak peak of some of the topics we have planned:

    * Integration with on-premises Active Directory and System Center Configuration Manager

    * Windows Phones management

    * Device enrollment

    * Jailbreak detection

    * VPN and WiFi profile deployment

    * E-mail profile deployment

    * Certificate deployment

    * App wrapping

    And there’s a lot, lot more to come! To get a sense of the kinds of topics we may cover, I recommend reading Brad Anderson’s post on Day 0 Support for iOS 8 and the post on What’s Coming Next with Windows Intune.

    This blog isn’t just about us talking to you – we also want your feedback. The team wants to know what you’re most interested in learning about, and what additional topics we need to cover. Definitely take the time to let us know by posting a comment on this blog.

    The people writing this blog are not just the same ones creating the features you love to use, but they’re also the field specialists who are stationed all over the world helping customers deploy these solutions every day. The contributors to this blog also include the team that supports the Intune service 24/7, document writers who create all the technical content you see on TechNet, and the marketing team who will be announcing new features. This blog will be all things Intune, all the time, from the experts.

    We plan to post new content here weekly, so bookmark this page and check back often!
