  • Friday - International Spotlight: Turkish friendly

Recently, Brazil and Turkey have performed great feats for TechNet and MSDN Communities.

We can see a special organization, the high knowledge on Products and Services and especially union to share Technical Articles by Turkish group.

The "Turkish Avengers Team" (TAT) !!!

Now you may be thinking: "God, Durval went crazy !!! He should be writing from Portuguese Community, looks like he scored a goal against Brazil team"...

No my friends, keep calm because I'm fine.

Let's be realistic to honor this team. They appear monthly in front of us always after read Progress in each Language, published by Tomoaki.

This growth in Portuguese and Turkish articles was very evident in his last post.

They are doing an amazing work, knowledge sharing quality to any people who speak Turkish language anywhere in the world.

YES!!! We also have Turkish citizens and people who admire Turkish Culture in several countries, including Brazil.

And for this reason and many others...

All standing ovation for Turkish Community !!!

This awesome picture where I'm cheering to TAT members was inspired by creativity of my friends Gokan Ozcifci and Davut Eren.

The important thing that all Communities, no matter the country or language have the ability to win a lot of games.

    Believe it !

  • Part one: the Nokia Maps on Windows Phone 8.

We continue our journey with geolocation services, but first we do small refresher of what we have discussed so far.

We started with the first article, which addressed in detail everything about the Geolocator. We've seen how geolocation services can be enabled to receive data on the user's location and how to get the latitude and longitude coordinates.

Subsequently, we delved into the ReverseGeocodeQuery class to convert latitude and longitude coordinates in an address, for those who have not had a chance to read its content it can be done by accessing this link .

In the next article, we have explored how the GeocodeQuery class, similar to the ReverseGeocodeQuery of the same, with the difference that in this case, we're going to convert an address into latitude and longitude coordinates.
Here's the link for those who haven't had the opportunity to read it.

After this brief introduction, we continue our journey and we will study ways to operate the control's main Nokia Maps available since version 8.0 for Windows Phone in three different articles.

In this we will study ways of functioning of the control.

    Navigate to this article http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/28572.part-one-the-nokia-maps-on-windows-phone-8.aspx

Happy reading, I hope it will be useful to all those who use the Nokia Maps control for your application :)

  • TNWiki Article Spotlight - Curated in Curah!

Let's celebrate our Curah! Week...Featuring a bit about Curah! articles on TechNet Wiki and how this amazing tool helps us to share our knowledge, improving overall performance level to find contents easily.

First, here were our previous blog posts for this celebrations:

It seems like it was only yesterday...

My first impression was: What do you mean by that???

So I thought: Wow!!! A solution for aggregating content from different sites on the same topic.

This will change the way search !!!

The most awesome is their ease of use and possibilities for sharing in social networks.

Quickly, a powerful source of information about an author or a topic can be shared !!!

A few days after Jan (Horizon_Net) published post:

    TNWiki Article Spotlight - Curah

The TechNet Wiki did not stopped and we soon began using Curah! to share articles.

Look! One of the first Curah articles on TechNet Wiki been translated into 17 languages (yes, my friends ... "seventeen") !!!

    See this article:

What is Curah!, and how do I get started?

So, many other articles about Curah! have been written by Community members.

In fact, the amount articles on different technologies was so great that we should create a new tag:

    Curated in Curah!

You can also find the several articles of your favorite Technology joining the tags (see e.g.):

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/tags/Curated+in+Curah/SQL+Server/default.aspx

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/tags/Curated+in+Curah/SharePoint/default.aspx

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/tags/Curated+in+Curah/PowerShell/default.aspx

    and many others ...

Well, of course the best part is seeing how Curah! takes care of our precious "articles" ...

See a quick search about our TechNet Wiki.

Have fun using Curah! today and in coming years !!!

    Happy birthday Curah!
