Curah! has a very specific purpose: to help people searching in Google or Bing find annotated collections of great content that specifically target common user questions. We’ve all been there before, typing in a search query and then hunting and clicking through pages of search results wondering where the good stuff is, what’s reputable, what’s appropriate, what’s current? A Curah! Page takes the guesswork out of this process because it has been hand-selected and annotated by experts like YOU.

The new Curah! Site offers a great opportunity to promote what you know by helping people find what they need quickly and with confidence. The role of curator is key to the success of Curah! You know the problems your customers are facing today, and you know what content exists on the web that addresses those problems. You know what is authoritative, what is helpful, and what is appropriate for users of varying levels of expertise. Curah enables you to easily collect a series of links, to title and annotate those links into a concise package of help, and to publish it to the web within seconds. From there, it will be picked up and indexed by the web search engines, and can be referenced via URL in blog or forum posts so anyone who needs it can get to it. Curah! is a great way for experts like you- in particular technologies, products, solutions, or scenarios- to share their knowledge and enhance their reputations in the community.

From Wiki to Curah!

Actually no! We are not moving from TechNet Wiki to Curah because we all love the Wiki. We are too much implicated to leave the WIKI at this time. Our era will end one day, but I can assure you that we, as TAT, are only at the beginning of our long story. Sorry for all others guys who wants to see us burn and crash :-)

What we did?

A week ago I received a mail from Bruno Lewin and many other Microsoft folks asking us to add some content to the Turkish side. I didn’t even think one second and accepted this project voluntary! TAT members did an excellent job in a few days and added more than 80 Curations in one week! A mix between Wiki articles and own references. Not everybody could add new Curations due to work and other community actions like TAT eBook, Forums, etc… But I know that they will begin as soon as possible with Curah!

Everyone on TechNet Wiki,

As we close another successful year for TechNet Wiki, it is with great pleasure that I write to acknowledge the significant contribution and presence of all who participate in this project, a fact that undoubtedly contributes to the achievement of another year of success for TechNet Wiki .

All that are exerted on the Wiki fill essential roles in the development of the tool.

It will be a great honor to share this with you again next year.

Because this is my last post before Christmas, I'm wishing a Merry Christmas to all who make the TechNet Wiki team.

Can I take a question and answer on the forums and transform it into an article?

The answer is simple: Yes, you can and you should… you can use whatever you need to be inspired to write a contribution, this can be a forum question, a problem or a need that you face in your day by day work, a post or an article from other author.

Another reason is that the Wiki article can get more views, it can be easier to read, and it can be much easier to find by the community. Plus it can end up with some collaboration that will make the answer even more complete!

So you just read that article and go to the template that best fits your forum thread. You copy that template, paste it in as a new Wiki article, and then you update it with your content!

This is a great way to easily make sure you are hitting some quality standards, because it's often hard to tell what people want or what will help you win in the TechNet Guru contests!

Let's learn a little more about him.

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

Hello! My name is André Xavier, I'm 34 and I'm from Belo Horizonte - Minas Gerais. I was one of the founders of Sotis Consulting, a company that was focused only on the Project Server technology. In 2008, we made the fusion of Sotis with BHS then I went to Sao Paulo to open the office there. Returning to BH in 2011, I became responsible for the entire area of consultancy (SharePoint, Project Server and BI). In two consecutive years, received the award for MVP of Project / Project Server.

How did you become an MVP? Do you have any suggestions for other community members who hope to eventually become a MVP?

The nomination process was very natural, the MVP award is earned by dedication and contribution to the community. I, along with Allan Rocha, had the biggest blog in Portuguese of the Project and Project Server technology. In addition, we participate in all major events of the Project (National and international). I am the creator of the add-in PERT analysis, which is in http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/projectpert totally free to download. With this, the team of Brazil and the Microsoft product team responsible for Project who knew and knew my work done evaluating my contributions. After, the entire selection process conducted my nomination was accepted and I was very proud to receive the email confirmation of the award.

How did you get introduced to TechNet WIki? And what was your first collaboration?

I believe it was at the event Community Zone, remember that Yuri Diogenes had spoken of the idea and I really liked it.

What are your big projects right now?

For the community:

· Improve Youtube channel with more videos.

· Increase the number of Blog contributors.

· Increase the number of collaborations in the wiki.

· Create a group of people to install Office 365 on without profit (nonprofit) companies

· Create my first app in Office Store.

What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?

As far as possible, I try to maintain maximum TechNet Wiki and the blog up to date. Increasingly, I see the Wiki as a great source of information shared between people at work. And I cannot forget of course, I also am very proud to help and be part of this great community. In my view, this is the philosophy of TechNet Wiki – help and share.

What is it about TechNet Wiki that interests you?

The collaborative way to share knowledge. I have thought about leaving the blog and stay just contributing on TechNet Wiki.

On what articles have you collaborated with other community members on #TNWiki? What was that experience like?

The experience was phenomenal, all collaborating for helping to have more information and always updated.

What are your favorite articles you’ve contributed?

I will mention 3 items that I received notifications that have reached critical importance:

· Dicas para a Prova 70-177 – Microsoft Project Server 2010 (pt-BR)

· Dicas para a Prova 70-178 – Microsoft Project 2010 (pt-BR)

· Add-in de análise PERT>Project 2010 PERT Add-in (pt-BR)

But the last article is one that I developed about an add-in made exclusively for the Portuguese language. Soon after I published the article, it was also contemplated for the English language. It not only stopped with these two languages... after several requests and, with the help of several people in the community, I also was able to translate it to the Spanish and Italian languages.

Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and why?

I'd rather not name names, the community is special just by contemplating various people and that is why it impress me, not just one person, but the community.

I am impressed to see the community of Brazil gaining importance at Microsoft and in the world.

You’ve done fairly well on the Wiki. Do you have any tips or recommendations about editing or authoring articles?

I always try to find answers to some problems or questions on the Wiki when I find the solution and not have at the TechNet Wiki, I write an article, because more people may have the same problem or questions, so I can help.
