• The first Microsoft Technical Turkish Contributor !

It wasn't easy to choose the MTTC of the past months because the TAT made excellent efforts to lead the Turkish Community. They wrote more than 100 articles since October and contributed on many other areas like forums, Wiki, …

    The WINNER is

I’m not able to select a winner, because I love all the members of my team. So I asked to the Wiki Ninjas Bloggers and The International Council to vote for the person that they choose as the MTTC.

Mehmet received the most votes so he can name himself as the first MTTC. Mehmet can choose between a Mug, Certificate or a special dedicated blogpost.. Congratulations to Mehmet and Baris

  • Council Spotlight - The TechNet Wiki Turkish Blog is coming!!!

Starting next week, you'll want to keep your eyes out for the TechNet Wiki Turkish blog!

This began as a project where I saw that the Portuguese community was so vibrant that they could run their own blog about their community, and so we span one up:

    Wiki Ninjas Brasil blog

These articles are about the Wiki Ninjas Brasil blog: http://blogs.technet.com/b/wikininjasbr/

    They have 9 authors now:

    1. Luciano Lima - MVP
    2. Jorge Barata - MVP
    3. Luiz Henrique Lima Campos - MVP
    4. Fernando Lugão Veltem - MVP
    5. Marcelo Sincic - MVP
    6. Daniel Donda - MVP
    7. Fabrício Sanchez - MVP
    8. Rover Marinho - MVP
    9. Hezequias Vasconcelos - MTFC

Hezequias has been blogging a lot lately!

Luciano has 36 total blog posts (on Wiki Ninjas and Wiki Ninjas Brasil), Luiz has 29 blog posts (on both blogs), and Hezequias has 22 blog posts (on both blogs). So Hezequias is catching up! Only 518 more and you'll catch up with me! =^o

... And that experience led to the next question: Are there any other language-based communities around TechNet Wiki that are also ready to run a blog?

The answer was an astounding YES!!!

Gokan Ozcifci (who was recently awarded MVP) put together a Turkish council that is ready to start blogging next week!

    Turkish Wiki Ninjas blog

These articles are about the Turkish Wiki Ninjas blog: http://blogs.technet.com/b/wikininjastr/

Similarly, they have 9 bloggers over there who are ready to go!

    1. Gokan Ozcifci - MVP
    2. Mehmet Parlakyigit-MTTC
    3. Baris Aydogmusoglu

    6. Nihat Altinmakas
    7. Ozgur Duranlioglu
    8. Mucahid Akcay

  • Interview with a Wiki Ninja: Mr X, MVP - Directory Services

    Hello Folks,

Welcome to our Monday Interview with a Wiki Ninja !

Today, the interview will be with Mr X aka Ahmed Malek. Ahmed is a MVP (Directory Services) and a wiki contributor !

    Mr X's (Ahmed Malek's) MVP Profile: http://mvp.microsoft.com/fr-fr/mvp/Ahmed%20Malek-4039913

Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

I am from Tunisia. I am currently working as a Systems Engineer at INSEAD The Business School for the World (Fontainebleau, Paris).

I specialize in Directory Services, Identity Management, Central Management, Firewall and Reverse-Proxy solutions.

What is your nickname Mr X signify ? Why did you chose that ?

It do not have a specific signification. Just took it when I was playing Metal Gear Solid 2  :-)

What are your big projects right now?

I worked on two big projects since last year:

    • Active Directory Consolidation project: This project was to consolidate four Active Directory Domains objects (60k +) and applications into one Domain.
    • Single User Name and Single Password project: This project was to provide our users a single User Name (E-mail address) and Single Password to access internal and external systems we manage instead of using a Login / Password per system.

Besides your work on TechNet Wiki, where do you contribute?

I contribute on Microsoft Technet Forums & Microsoft Technet Gallery.

What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?

Technet Wiki is for everyone: It is for sharing and acquiring new knowledge about Microsoft Technologies.

What is it about TechNet Wiki that interests you?

I see Technet Wiki as an innovative platform that can be considered as an extension of Microsoft articles: Everyone can share his experience and knowledge about Microsoft products. Articles with rich content are getting created on daily basis and that is why it is becoming more and more interesting to take Technet Wikis as a reference.

On what Wiki articles do you spend most of your time?

    Directory Services Wiki articles.

What are your favorite Wiki articles you’ve contributed?

How to Delegate the Restoration of Objects from Active Directory Recycle Bin: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20592.how-to-delegate-the-restoration-of-objects-from-active-directory-recycle-bin.aspx

Central Management of DNS configuration compliance and updates: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20527.central-management-of-dns-configuration-compliance-and-updates.aspx

What are your top 5 favorite Wiki articles?

Mostly all the articles listed on “Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) Portal”: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13752.wiki-active-directory-domain-services-ad-ds-portal.aspx

Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and why?

Ed Price, Richard Mueller, Yagmoth555, Naomi N and Santosh Bhandarkar for their remarkable efforts they do in the Wiki community.

What does success look like for TechNet Wiki?

For me, the success would be that Microsoft product users will be able to find, all what they need, when they go to Technet Wiki.

Do you have any comments for product groups about TechNet Wiki?

I just think that it is easy today to have a duplicated Wiki article (Two or more Wiki articles for the same topic). I believe that it would be better to have a system that can notify the Wiki article creator about that to avoid posting duplicated articles.

    ***********************************************************************************************************************************

     Thanks Ahmed for this Interview.

Keep up the good work and thanks for your contributions.

If you have questions for Mr X (Ahmed), please leave a comment here...

The oldest article which have locale tag is zh-CN (in the English Wiki instance) !! Great Work Tony!
The next are Multilingual series of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP4 Release Notes.

As far as I searched, locale tag was started in earnest from March 2011 by pt-BR. And then, other languages began a little later. Please see pt-BR history.
Therefore, these multilingual articles by Ed were experiments to raise global community, I guess. Is it right?
If so, these experiments became a great success!!

    Thanks!
