Hello and welcome everybody to our TNWiki Article Spotlight on Tuesday.

The last week has been an amazing week for Windows Azure fans. First we had the AzureConf on Tuesday and then on Saturday the Global Windows Azure Bootcamp has been an enormous success.
One of the great features of Windows Azure are the HDInsight Services, which are currently in preview. Additionally to Windows Azure HDInsight is also available for Windows. But what are the HDInsight Services? They are Microsofts answer to the current Big Data discussion. If you want to become familiar with it I have an article which I highly recommend - Microsoft HDInsight (Big Data) Solution.

Why I recommend this article? You will find a lot of information about Big Data, upcoming events, downloads, videos, etc. in it. All in all, anything you will need to get started. It a shiny Sunday at Belgium today and I’m very tired after the SharePoint Saturday yesterday but this is not a reason to forgot my post!   Today I want to talk about “signatures” on TechNet Wiki and TechNet Blogs ! After searching a while on internet I’ve found the theatrical explanation of a signature:

 

A signature (from Latin: signare, "to sign") is a handwritten (and often stylized) depiction of someone's name, nickname, or even a simple "X" or other mark that a person writes on documents as a proof of identity and intent. The writer of a signature is a signatory or signer. Similar to a handwritten signature, a signature work describes the work as readily identifying its creator. A signature may be confused with an autograph, which is chiefly an artistic signature. This can lead to confusion when people have both an autograph and signature and as such some people in the public eye keep their signatures private whilst fully publishing their autograph.

 

I know from the past that Ana Paula de Almeida created an International collection of Wiki Ninja stick figures.  There are fourteen (14) stick figure variations of the International Wiki Ninja in this series. The images include: Brazilian Ninja, Chinese Ninja, Russian Ninja, Korean Ninja, Italian Ninja, Spanish Ninja, Turkish Ninja, American Ninja, French Ninja, Hungarian Ninja, Indonesian Ninja, Japanese Ninja and German Ninja.

I’ve decided to create my signature with the Turkish Figure and created something like that:
 
  
  
 

As said, a signature should be unique; something that is reflecting yourself. Something that’s a part of you. Something that you will be proud to share and use. Recently Serhad Makbuloglu joined our team. I’m very proud that he joined our team because I know him personally and he is a wonderful “big brother” for me. He also came from the fantastic Turkish Community and uses the figures of Ana.

 

 

We both have the same signature and when I search on internet “Turkish Ninja Wiki” I can see our both pictures..

 

 

I decided to check each Wiki Ninja Contributor’s signature to see if they had an unique signature:
 

The answer is "YES" .. I will work on a new signature and hopefully for my new blog post get it out. This is my draft  :-) :

But my question is the following: Do you think that a little detail can change our world by unifying our signatures ( to get more visibiltiy ) ?

The article most updated this week is Test Lab Guides by Joe Davies (Microsoft). The guides give anyone who wants to learn "valuable hands-on experience with new products and technologies using a pre-defined and tested methodology that results in a working configuration". Everything you needed to know, right there, bookmark NAOW!

 

Also worth mentioning is second most changed article, BizTalk: List of Errors and Warnings, Causes and Solutions by Sandro Pereira (MVP). This is a sensationally useful document if you need this kind-o-thing, and a shining example of what we love here at TNWikiville.

 

Longest Article Award   Biggest article updated this week

 

The largest article to receive some attention this week is Windows PowerShell Survival Guide by tonysoper_MSFT, a classic article of TNWiki, that often gets a mention when someone tweaks it. Just TRY not to raise your eyebrows when you scan over this masterpiece!

 

Most Revised Article Award   Article with the most revisions in a week

 

The article to receive the most revisions this week is as highlighted above, BizTalk: List of Errors and Warnings, Causes and Solutions by Sandro Pereira. Sandro's been hard core tweaking, with 31 revisions saved this week alone! Lovin' your work Sandro!

 

Smallest Significant Edit Award   Size isn't everything! Every edit counts.

 

Ignoring the addition of tags, this week's smallest but valuable tweak was to Windows Azure Service Bus Resources by charlie.mott who simply added a new bulleted link to the dead lettering section.

These little tweaks and additions are the lifeblood of a "relevant" and "current" wiki and we appreciate every little update you provide.
