  • Top Contributors Awards!! BizTalk, Exchange 2013, SQL Server Express, And all about da wiki!!!

Welcome back for another analysis of weekly contributions to TechNet Wiki over the last week (Fri-Sat)

Firstly, here is the FIXED weekly leader board snapshot

Sandro, Anis and Fernando all top the charts this week and rightly so, some legendary work, incoming this week!

Below are the results of another weekly crawl over the updated articles feed.

    Most Revisions Award
Who has made the most individual revisions

Sandro Pereira (MVP) comes first this week, with 132 revisions over JUST 9 articles. Some hard core work produced on a few quality articles there Sandro, nice work!

Fernando Lugão Veltem (MVP) is second, with 33 revisions over just 5 articles. Again, some excellent contributions from another TNWiki'er.

Payman Biukaghazadeh comes third, with 31 revisions over 10 articles. Another great contribution!

    Most Articles Updated Award
Who has updated the most articles

Aris Lesmana comes first, with 29 articles.

gains a position from last week to take second place, with 13 articles.

makes a welcome return to joint second, with 13 articles.

    takes third, with 10 articles.

    Most Updated Article Award
Largest amount of updated content in a single article

The article most updated this week is BizTalk Server: Glossary by Sandro Pereira. This is one of those documents he's been compiling this week, which is beyond a doubt a proper piece of beauty. Everything common term you can think of for BizTalk. Of course, if you CAN think af another, ADD IT YOURSELF!! This is just the kind of glorious document that could blossom into even more! Thank you Sandro for your knowledge and time.

Also worth mentioning is second place "most changed", which is also a new comer to the wiki : Exchange 2013 Management Shell Tips of the Day by . An absolutely fascinating read, listing all of the "tips of the day". A great way to get up to speed. Great contribution Fernando!

    Longest Article Award
    Biggest article updated this week

The largest article to receive some attention this week is BizTalk Server: Glossary by Sandro Pereira, as described above. Monster input. Thanks again Sandro!

Therefore, I will also highlight second place "biggest article" to get fiddled with this week, Cómo incrustar SQL Server Express en una aplicación (es-ES), tag-tweaked by the wiki curator himself,

This document is the Spanish translation of How to Embed SQL Server Express in an Application. A great primer for anyone needing a lightweight database for their application, or just wanting to get into hobby programming.

    Most Revised Article Award
Article with the most revisions in a week

The article to receive the most revisions this week is BizTalk Server: Glossary again, by Sandro Pereira. I counted 64 revisions, to date. Now this is clearly a guy who knows the pain of not saving regularly enough. Nice work Sandro.

    Smallest Significant Edit Award
Size isn't everything! Every edit counts.

Ignoring the addition of tags, this week's smallest but valuable tweak was to Вики: О TechNet Wiki (ru-RU) by our old friend  This is the Russian version of Wiki: About TechNet Wiki, which youtun8 has also translated to Chinese.

He was doing one of the most valuable services you can offer to the wiki (other than contributing genuine original content of course), that is to translate another article, and most importantly, LINK to your translation from all the other translations.

Our wiki is richer for your time and efforts, we love you all.

    Best regards,
    Pete Laker

  • The Wiki Influencers

    Hello Ninjas,

It has been a very very veeeerryy busy week for me but I will never forget to post my scheduled post. Today it’s the friday- international spotlight

Most of times, there are 2 classic Friday Posts.

    1. Yottun8 : Locale Rank Table

    2. Luiz Henrique Lima Campos [MVP] : The Mug Day

The spotlight doesn’t go to a language today or to a person who receive a mug or Pocket book. The spotlight today goes to a few persons who are very “visible” on TechNet Wiki.

    These persons are:

Actually why I am praising this persons including myself? The reason is simple. When you’re on the homepage of the WIKI you can see our names. Persons influencing the WIKI and all these persons are in the team of WIKI NINJAS!

Isn’t this not an International Spotlight?

Doesn’t matter witch language you speak, from where you are or what you do. Our goal is the same and will always the same: “Help the community by one way or antoher”

  • Technology Tags - an idea and then a lot of contributions

Welcome to Thursday's Community Win, where we discuss a story of how the community has come together!

Although Horizon feature the article already (TNWiki Article Spotlight - Technology Tags), I wanted to tell the story.

Since the list of tags kept getting longer, there was no way to see all the tags. So if technology tags weren't popular enough, that made it impossible to find them in a list.

So I created this article on 12/14/12:

    TechNet Wiki: Technology Tags

I stubbed it out and planned to come back and work on it. But Luigi Bruno contributed the first tags the next day, and the article has taken off!

Now the article lists 123 different tags, added through 75 different edits, and the edits were described with 65 different comments!

So thanks to Luigi and other contributors!

  • Wiki Life: Happy Birthday TechNet Wiki!

Hello and welcome everybody to our Wednesday - Wiki Life post.

Do you know who/what has his/its third birthday on April 14? Let me ask you this question in another way: What do you think, how old is the TechNet Wiki?

Nearly three years ago the TechNet Wiki was launched with the following announcement. How many of you thought that the wiki is that young? I remember the time when I joined the TechNet Wiki community one and a half year ago. That was a great time, but like Ed would say: The wiki is warm!

Since this announcement 3,923 users have contributed 13,570 articles (on March 27), that means more than 4,000 articles per year or in other words: more than ten articles per day. Is that amazing? I think so! But did you notice one thing on this wiki article with your ninja senses? If not, have a look at the page details. The non-invisible ninja Ed Price has already posted the article for the announcement on April 8. That should be called amazing :-) I think he's the only one who can contribute an article to a wiki before the wiki was created.

As a conclusion, let me ask you one (ok, two) question(s): Do you remember when you have contributed your first article? If so, tell me in the comments. And why did you join the wiki community?
