  • Windows 7 “GodMode” Explained

     

    What’s all the fuss about Windows 7 “GodMode”? It probably has more to do with the moniker than anything else, but as The Deployment Guys point out in their blog, that’s not the name used internally here at Microsoft. The so-called “GodMode” is actually a folder shortcut (one of many) that provides quick access to the operating system. Check out The Deployment Guys’ posting to see how it works.

  • Security Advisory: Assessing the risk of IE 0day vulnerability

     

    The Microsoft security response center has released Microsoft Security Advisory 979352, alerting customers to limited, sophisticated attacks targeting Internet Explorer 6 customers. Today, samples of that exploit were made publicly available. The Security Research & Defense blog explains that the attacks to date only affect customers using IE6. Check it out for more information about this vulnerability.
