• Seeding Community in Smaller Cities

After Rahul Nathan’s efforts in Mandya and Mysore region of Karnataka with MY-TUG (MandYa/MYsore Technology User Group), another MVP – Vasu Jain – is helping build community in his home town, Meerut. On October 30, 2010, he organized a Windows Phone 7 Preview event targeted both at consumers and hobbyist developers (Meerut has a huge student population, so those should be a large number).

The event went very successful and was covered in local edition of the leading national Hindi daily – Hindustan. With MVPs in Dehradun, Siliguri, and towns in Kerela managing user groups and communities, the diversity and the reach of their evangelism is tremendous, and not just limited to bigger cities or Microsoft speakers.
