Thank you for the tip.  I followed your #2 tip and I was able to activate mine.

Number 2 worked for me as well.  Using Windows 8 you right click on a Microsoft Office app in the Start screen and on the bottom of the screen is the option "Run As Administrator."  Worked! Thanks.
