Hi Joe,

Can you explain what this wording means in this KB article about the June for Office 2007? I'm not sure if it conflicts with what you're saying or not.

"A set of supported cumulative update packages are now available from Microsoft. However, each package is intended to correct only the applications that are listed in this article. Apply the packages only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems. If you are not severely affected by any of these problems, we recommend that you wait for the next update package that contains the hotfixes in these cumulative update packages. "

Hi Daniel, sorry for the delayed response...the system didn't notify me you had left a comment.

That statement matches up with what I was saying about testing...we do not test cumulative update packages to the same extent that we do a Sevice Pack or RTM of the product. We do recommend folks should deploy these packages and should always test them internally before deploying to all users as its possible they could cause problems (it's VERY rare but each environment may be unique due to 3rd party products, etc).

If it is recommended that we apply these cumulative updates - why are they not available via the green "Request Hotfix" button at the top of the article? How are we supposed to get hold of them?

The individual updates themselves do have the request hotfix link - but not the cumulative updates!

According to the TechNet Office Updates page, Cumulative Updates for Office will no longer be issued after December 2014.
