Dear Mbaher,

I'm very new with Microsoft Unified Communication. I want to configure the Lync Server 2010 in my company but I never use and implement it. I'm very new. could you details how to edit the sample topology (edit ip address and server name)?

Hi Khemarin,

First note that Lync is stll RC, i'd advise you wait and till RTM to deploy it for your company... Regarding your question, you can edit the IP address and server names using the Lync planning tool or within the topology editor

I have installed on Lync Pool. During the topology build, i have selected SQL Server Instance (SQL Server 2008 Sp1) and it created all require DB during the publish. When i have started installtion through Deployment wizard, first step was Install Local Configuration Store. I select Run and it install a local Copy of SQL 2008 Express Edition. What's the use of this ? What is the use of DB created on SQL Server ?

I am able to logon to Lync Client but just wondering about this.

I advise you go through the published Lync documentation, you will find details about the process and why it is needed. You can find them here technet.microsoft.com/.../default.aspx

Yes, I will implement Lync Server 2010 in 2011. I need to test before i'm implement with my production. I need read more document and video. Do you have any idea share to me?

hi,

i have a problem in the step n°18.

when it try to create a new store, it generate an exception and the step of publication was stoped with error...

plz how can help me?

The first step in Part2 is confusing to me. I'm not quiet sure if I'm following you about creating DNS, Can you please elaborate on this step for me

I to am confused about the first step. Can you explain the labeling as to what is what? Your screenshots are the best exept for this very first step doesn't have a screenshot of the DNS entries.

Thanks for this guide. I get to step 17 and get an error. looking at the log it shows:

Error: An error occured: "System.UnauthorizedAccessException" "Access is denied. {Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))"

This is running under the main global domain admin account.

Any suggestions?
