Applied CU2 to our Dev lab.  All seems to be going well so far except for my W2K8 64bit  terminal server.

Applied CU2 Update via CU2 Hotfix Utility "Server Update" since we have the SCOM console installed. That went well.  We also have the SCOM Agent installed.  But when I applied the Agent Update per your notes via the HotFix Utility or even  when I manually apply KB979257-X64-AGENT.msp, we now receive an alert "Agent and OS architecture are the same" complaining they agent and OS versions don't match.  

My TS server has AMD64 bit processor technology.  I have verified that the Agent and CU2 patches are indeed the 64 bit versions from the ADM64 directories. With just the agent applied, I do not get the alert, only after CU2 is applied.  I have tested/tried this several times to make sure I had the correct items applied.  Same results.

Is this normal?  Do I need to set any overrides for the new monitor Agent Version/Architecture monitor checks?  Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Sorry I originally addressed you as Bryan, I was reading another post when I wrote my question :-)

You advice was perfect.  I had to de-install the SCOM agent and console and CU2 patches form the Terminal Server and start fresh as you suggested.  Although patience is key in SCOM - had to wait for this TS server in SCOM console to completely update after de-installing and reinstalling before the Agent/OS Mismatch alert would clear.  All is good.  Also cannot stress enough to run CU2 patch from elevated command prompt even if you are a domain admin.  My 1st attempt failed until I used the elevated cmd prompt.

Can you add these steps to apply the CU2 patch a Terminal Server with an installed agent to your CU2 hot fix install experience procedure? Others would also benefit from your experience on this one for sure.

Curious. Is there any issues installing Reporting Sevices and the DW from the SCOM Setup media after CU2 has been applied to the RMS and MS servers?  Will  the install work?  Will I need to re-apply CU2?

I'm in the middle of upgrading to CU2 and am having an issue getting the agents to show up as pending upgrade.

At first, I had done the installation with my account, which has all the access needed (even SA).  Everything went fine, but I noticed the update packages didn't get put into the agentmanagement folders.  I manually copied them in, but this didn't change anything (even after cycling the HS on the RMS and each MS).

Then I logged in as the action account, which is also local admin and SA.  Install went fine again, it DID copy the files into place, but still the agents don't show up in pending.

I manually updated two agents, and they show up just fine as having the CU2 update in the agent view.  But I can't get any of the other agents to show up in pending.  Am I going to have to resort to a 3rd party tool to push the update out?

Figured it out.  Even though I used an elevate command prompt, it didn't work until I disabled UAC and did it again.  No idea why, but it worked.

Most of our agents were installed thru discovery wizard. After applied KB971541 agents showed up in pending management but unable to approve them. error msg report RPC server unavailable or system cannot find file specified... We will upgrade to R2 CU2 in october and I understand agents will work fine with R2 CU2. However, once our mgmt group upgraded is done will agents be upgradable from console "approve" ?

Will the agents that had to be manually updated show up in the Patch List?
