Noticed that Win8 developer preview has new DISM switches for imaging operations. They are List,Delete,Split,Export,Append,Capture,Apply-Image. Imagex is almost redundant.

I wont be commenting on Win8 until the time is "right" but needless to say, I am one of the engineers working on support for Win8 so plenty of cool stuff is coming. If you're interested, I would recommend that everyone read Steve's blog for the latest information on what's been announced so far:
