One of the reasons we do not run Oracle on Hyper-V is the licensing costs - have Oracle now addressed this? Previously it was licensed by physically CPUs, regardless of how many you gave the Virtual Machine, with Oracle claiming they only believed their own products capable of 'hard partitioning'
Unless Oracle have changed their stance, there is no value to be gained running Oracle on Hyper-V.

Oracle has not changed its licensing policy with regard to Windows Server Hyper-V as a result of this partnership, but Hyper-V is now a fully supported platform for running Oracle software -- and it's the only supported hypervisor other than Oracle VM.
Long term, this isn't going to lead to a replacement of SQL with the Oracle database. Is it?
When I read this headline, I cringed a little bit. I hope that this does not lead to Microsoft moving from SQL to Oracle as a DBMS.
