You can also change the system date to a point before the evaluation license has expired, restart the SCOM services and enter the new license key by Set-SCOMLicense.

Very nicely explained. I had my evaluation expired and was unable to connect to the MG. After reading your blog, I was able to get the license key assigned and got access to my OM. Thanks.
