Convergence 2008

Convergence is het belangrijkste Microsoft Dynamics-evenement, waarbij klanten, partners, teamleden en vertegenwoordigers uit het bedrijfsleven bijeenkomen in een speciaal voor u gecreëerde omgeving. Convergence wordt gehouden in Kopenhagen, Denemarken, net als in 2007. I'm super excited!!! :)

This is a collection of 6 posters designed to be used by Microsoft customers to post around their facility during Office 2007 deployment. The posters highlight the end-user attention-grabbing features that will get people interested in and excited about the new version. There are a set of low resolution versions to look at and to email to customers, as well as a set of high resolution versions suitable for printing at poster sizes. There is also a version which includes an editable spot for customers to insert their own logos.

MDOP 2008 R2 Release to Manufacturing!

Just a week after my colleague Shanen Boettcher wrote about virtualization and its role in the Optimized Desktop, specifically announcing the RTM of Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.5, commonly called “App-V”, I’m proud to let you know that the entire MDOP 2008 R2 suite of products has officially reached RTM status! New and existing customers can get App-V 4.5 starting TODAY, and will be able to get the other MDOP 2008 R2 components the first week of October!

Gartner published several interesting reports around Microsoft's Desktop Optimization Pack, Software Assurance (SA) and the risk of skipping Vista. These reports are publicly available!

One of the most often heard difficulties when customers are interested in Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) for the desktop, and they do not yet have SA, is that buying SA just for the use of App-V is expensive. In this scenario it's important to show the customer the business value of SA and mdop. This is where the Gartner reports "How to Quantify the Value of Software Assurance for Windows Client" and "Quantifying the Value of Microsoft's Desktop Optimization Pack" can really help.
