I attended EnergizeIT and it was a blast! I snagged three T-shirts (two just landed at my feet) and found out about the Security Development Lifecycle, which I will investigate in more depth, as application security is a hot topic in my workplace. I also satisfied my ex-DBA soul by finding out about SQL Server 2008, and got to hear about this year's award winners. (Among other things.)

Thanks to the free wireless, I was also able to send the following note, "Live from TO" to my boss and coworker: "So I’m at TO, at the EnergizeIT Microsoft event, and you can talk about why IT is exciting for 2 minutes. So I do that, UNAWARE, that I am going to get, just for talking: A mug with the word “Geek” on it, a pen (which I think lights up)AND a new book 'The New CIO Leader.' I am in Seventh Heaven!"

You can bet I'll be back next year!

Glad you had a good time - so did I! It is a different event than our usual TechNet tours - a ton of different speakers, hands on labs, etc. What a great day of just getting excited to be in this field!

I would like to know if there is any event, like EnergizeIT or other, planned for July and august 2007 near Toronto?

I am an IT consultant in Paris, focusing on .net application architecture and development. I will spend 4 weeks near Toronto during this period and, taking advantage of that, i'd like to assist to events like Technet ones. Not only, i hope to attend such a "blast" event, but also i will be glad to meet an IT advisor like you. This would be a good opportunity to exchange ideas and to discuss about what things are going on abroad. I will really delighted if such a meeting could happen.

EnergizeIT is only held once a year and it's unique in it's format and excitement level. We run tours (cross-Canada events in major cities) several times throughout the year from Sept to June, but July and August are down times for us, as many of the people who would come out to our events are on holiday or otherwise occupied by summer activities.
