Searching the Internet for an example how to add an entry to the BCD store I found your blog. The script is quite interesting but unfortunately you use BCDedit instead of the WMI API. I would prefer to use WMI but this is not well documented.

Stephan, I wholeheartedly agree with you and I did try to write the script using WMI (it was back in early Vista days that a first wrote it), but stumbled ona problem that I couldn't overcome, so a resorted to the dirty call to BCDEdit method (I know I don't like it either). The problem was that when I copied a BCD entry using WMI and tried to find it after creation, it did not seem to be available via WMI, so I couldn't therfore make the neccessary changes to it.
