To enable data to be collected for Asset Intelligence console usage and CAL reports, Client Access License (CAL) data collection must be enabled in the Configuration.mof hardware inventory settings file and computer security policy logon settings must be configured to enable auditing of success logon events.

You can use the following procedures to enable the security policy settings required for Asset Intelligence console usage and CAL reports. For more information about Configuration.mof modifications required to enable Asset Intelligence CAL reporting, see Prerequisites for Asset Intelligence.

To enable success logon event logging using a local security policy

    1. On a Configuration Manager 2007 client computer, open Control Panel and navigate to Administrative Tools \ Local Security Policy.

    2. Navigate to Security Settings \ Local Policies \ Audit Policy.

    3. In the results pane, double-click Audit logon events and ensure that Success is selected.

To enable success logon event logging using an Active Directory domain security policy

    2. Navigate to Security Settings \ Local Policies \ Audit Policy.

    3. In the results pane, double-click Audit logon events and ensure that Success is selected.
