If you've viewed my Outlook 2003 blogcasts you'll already be familiar with this tip. But it's so useful I have to repeat it here because anyone who doesn't use it is missing out big time.

All you have to do is remember this keyboard shortcut: SHIFT-CTRL-V. That's it. Just remember it.

Now use it. Next time you're in Outlook and have an email that you want to store in a folder you can drag'n'drop the email like you've always done. That's fine if you have only three folders and are paid by the hour. But if you're in a hurry, try using your new shortcut, SHIFT-CTRL-V, and the 'Move Items' dialog box will appear. Now just select your destination folder and hit enter. No more frantic scrolling around like a loony. No more accidentally dropping the email in the wrong place.

And the Move to Folder dialog box is quite smart too. It remembers the last folder you used so this is a great tool to use if you need to sequentially dump a lot of dispersed stuff into the same folder.

(Another shortcut that's sometimes useful is SHIFT-CTRL-Y which copies items to a folder location. Use this one with care though. If your Inbox is anything like mine the last thing you want to do is start duplicating items unnecessarily.)
