"Buttering" Onesself with MSN Search?

Published 09 February 05 12:55 AM | tristank

The verb form of "Google" seems to have become the commonly accepted form of "searching using Google":

"I googled myself today...", "I'm googling it...", "Google me!", "Go And Get Googled" (when someone asks a question verbally using only search terms - eg "Hey Tristan! ISA Web Publishing SSL?")

I've (just today) switched my default Maxthon search service over to MSN Search, and I'm finding it's definitely on the "good" side of usable, a marked improvement from even a month ago.

The dastardly, complex problem I'm having now is that while the word "Google" lends itself neatly to being verbified* (if nobody claims that word, it's mine), "MSN Search" doesn't.

As it's "Better with the Butterfly", I'm considering the following alternatives for the above:

  1. I butterflied myself today...
  2. I'm buttering it...
  3. Butter me up!
  4. Go And Cover Yourself In Butter, Then Ask Again
  5. Cholesterol This!

Got any better suggestions for a verbiated* form of MSN Search?

The slashdot crowd would suggest "borged".

People're still saying "Can you make a Xerox copy?", they don't say "Can you make an HP copy?" despite HP now has more than half of the printer market.

Maybe you can say "I googled myself in MSN today..."?

I don't like it when people verb nouns.

I prefer verbed to verbified :)

I was going to cover "Googled" vs. "MSN Searched" in my post from last month about "Choosing product names that can be verbed and acronymed" (http://blogs.msdn.com/jonathanh/archive/2005/01/25/360451.aspx), but it was just too easy a target...

How about "flutterbied"?

Ooh, I like "Borg" as a verb, but I think the hiring process might have dibs on that one, it doesn't scream search :)

Flutterbied - Reverend Spooner would be proud!

Why not "msned" (say it mess-enned)? It's almost like "messed"...

Try it for yourself:

"I msned myself today"
"Go msend yourself!"
