A 'Savings' of what?

At least I know I'm not the only one that finds the use of the plural "savings" in a singular context confusing and - well - wrong!

"A savings of $50"... bah. Should be "A saving of $50".

It's a good warning sign. When you hear "a savings of $50" you know it's going to cost you at least $100.
