Over a month and no talky...

Well, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything.  I know there's probably been a general silence throughout the Flightsim team as we slave away working toward feature complete and eventually content complete and eventually shipping Flight Simulator X.  Yay!  I will be working on the FSX FAQ soon (based on assumed questions and anything else I can dig up, of course), so that you can see what kind of technical specs you'll get for all of your content creation needs.

In addition to cranking on Flight Simulator, Adam Szofran and I both spoke at GDC last week.  Adam covered our terrain engine and I did a presentation called "The Make Art Button".  My presentation went pretty well, but I couldn't figure out why half of the audience bailed right before the whole MaxScript / Make Art Button portion of the talk.  I was thinking, "Hey, wait everybody, you're going to miss the best part."  But then someone came up to me in the airport after the talk and said that he loved it and would have stayed, except that he was a Maya user.  Aha.  So that's why everyone left.  Makes sense now...  Or maybe I just suck.

So, since I haven't posted in a while, I figure I'll dish out a bunch of random links that I've accrued in the last couple of weeks in no particular order:

There's got to be something in the water.

Yup, there's definitely something in the water.

Cool blog covering all the areas where people have put something in the water. (Some of the stuff on the front page NSFW.)

The water.

Nope, you don't suck - that was quite rude for those attending to just up and leave right in the middle of your presentation.  I would be very interested in seeing any part of your presentation you'd be willing to share publicly - like Adam did (or at least, tried to before overflowing his ISP's bandwidth).  Pretty please? :-)  I don't use Maya!!

Nope you don't suck, I was in the audience and I didn't leave :-)
It was very interesting and there was lots of cool tips and nice touches of humor (the max material editor resizing thing hehe)

I thought the people living were quite rude too ...
But since it was late on friday, perhaps they had flights to catch or something. My company had lots of his employees leaving on afternoon flights ...

Thanks again for this talk,
Matt

We'll be puuting my slides up somewhere as soon as I get around to giving them to the right people.
