What the heck is a Torgo 3000?
Well of course, the simple answer is that it is obviously the model immediately following the Torgo 2000.
Okay, let me back up a second. I guess I'll start from the beginning. It has something to do with MST3K, an old screen saver for After Dark , a seriously skanky old quilted nylon jacket and the fact that I'm a drummer who builds all of his own instruments. So some freakish combination of all of the above gave me and / or my drumkit (I'm not really sure which at this point) the dubious name "Torgo 3000".
Plus, there's the big knees....
But, I digress. So this gets me to the point of what this has to do with the ACES games group at Microsoft. Well, absolutley nothing. Which is exactly why I decided to start this blog. If you don't follow my logic, neither do I.
So a bit about me that might actually mean something to people:
I'm the technical art lead for the ACES studio at MGS. I work on the various simulation products here, like Flight Simulator for example.
I used to be the Environment Art Lead for Flightsim.
I hope to use this blog as a way to disseminate propaganda... er... helpful hints, tips, techniques and maybe even some (completely unsupported, no promises, just getting everyone's hopes up because do I really have the time) Max Scripts to folks who might be looking for those kinds of things (especially in relation to Flight Simulator).
I will also use this blog to reveal scandalous details about my boring life and of course to shamelessly self-promote.
Stay tuned.
