TechNet Plus: SP1, Top Downloads control

So I have to say I’m happy that it is Friday – we’ve made some progress this week with SP1 availability but do not seem to be out of the woods yet.  If you have an active Technet Plus subscription you should be able to find the SP1 update in the Top Subscriber Downloads control.

As you can see from the comments to my previous blog posts some subscribers are having trouble.  If you are able to access Subscriber Downloads and Product Keys from http://technet.microsoft.com/subscriptions/manage  but your Top Subscriber Downloads control looks like this:

Instead of this:

Please contact your local customer service center, so that they can troubleshoot and gather your information.  We are still trying to isolate the issue.

(Jeff & Keith – you do not need to contact customer service since we started working with you already).

Thanks,

Kathy

UPDATE: This issue has been resolved.  We located what was causing this issue and have corrected a setting the the XML file for the Top Downloads control.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks Kathy and Julie - I appreciate your dedicated efforts to fix this quickly.  Works fine now and I have deployed SP1 to three different platofrms with no issues.

The issue that was causing Top Downloads to not be available for some TechNet Plus subscribers (SA benefit subscrbers specifically) was resolved yesterday afternoon/evening. You should now be seeing Top Downloads. Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Good.. as a TechNet Plus suscriber, finally Top Downloads with Windows Vista SP1 is appearing for me on saturday.

Just note that when starting download, the Akamai "save as.. " dialog box is showing under main Internet Explorer window, so you'll have to minimize IE to see the "save as.. " window.

I don't think the problem see the Top Subscriber Downloads is resolved.  This morning I kept getting the yellow bar telling me technet.com security certificate has errors in it while getting the green check mark at the bottom telling me this is a trusted site.  The Top Subscriber Downloads finally showed up after I uncheck the box for "Require Server Verification..."

Something is still wrong!

No problem with download.

However have been evaluating Enterprise  version with the service pack preinstalled (no longer available for download) and evidently there is no way to "uninstall" the pack and install the RTM SP1.

Thanks for fixing this problem.  Now I see another problem.  As soon as the download starts in the download manager, an error stops the process.  There are no details under the detail button.  I have tried this download on a VISTA machine, a Windows Server 2003 machine and on an XP SP2 box.  All give me the same problem.  Anyone else see this?

Kathy,

Is there any update as to when the full Vista images with SP1 built-in will arrive? We're anxiously awaiting them. Thanks!
