TechNet Plus: Subscriber Downloads maintenance

This Friday, there will be some additional maintenance on Subscriber Downloads to improve system capacity and performance.

The maintenance will begin on Friday, October 12th, 2007 at 5:00 PM PDT causing downloads to be unavailable  for ~ 5 hours.  All other subscriber benefits (Product Keys, Managed Newsgroups, eLearning & Online Concierges Chat) will be available during this time.

Thanks,

Kathy Dixon

OK, so I'm working at NWN; a Microsoft Gold Partner. I have the email address & password for either our Technet+ or MSDN account (I think), however, I can't seem to access the Technet+ or MSDN download site. Does MS associate each "Partner" employee's company-email-ID with that company's Partner-access rights (as does Cisco)? Or, Is there some other method that I'm supposed to use in order to access these services?

Here are the instructions you are looking for:

How do Microsoft Partners Access the TechNet Benefits Portal?

Access to the TechNet Subscription Benefits Portal is dependent on your program role. Only the Partner Technical Contact for each organization will be able to access the TechNet Subscription Benefits Portal. If you are not the Partner Technical Contact, please contact your Program Administrator to find out who this is in your organization.

I am the Technical Contact for my organization, what is my Benefit Access Number?

In order to access your online benefits, you will need to associate your MSPP Technical ID with your Passport account on the TechNet Registration page. Contact your Program Administrator to receive your MSPP Technical ID. Your Program Administrator will find this number in the Microsoft Partner Program Membership Center where they assigned you as the Technical Contact for your organization.

Note: You will also be asked to enter your name and e-mail address, on the registration page, as it was entered in the MSPP Membership Center by your organization’s Program Administrator along with your MSPP Technical ID. Contact your Program Administrator to receive your MSPP Technical ID.

Register for your TechNet Plus Direct benefits:

·         Go to the TechNet Benefits Portal and Subscriber Downloads site at:

 http://technet.microsoft.com/subscriptions/default.aspx

·         Select the “Associate your subscription with your Passport” link under “First time user?” from the box on the right hand side.

·         Follow the instructions to authenticate your subscription (Note:  Please enter your Technical Contact ID in ‘benefit access number’ cell.)

·         Once you accept the agreement you are now registered and have access to your TechNet Plus Direct benefits.

·         In the future, you can access your TechNet Plus Direct benefits by visiting http://technet.microsoft.com/subscriptions/default.aspx, selecting the “Click here” link under “Existing Subscribers” from the box on the right hand side, and log in using your Windows Live ID.

Thanks,
Kathy
