Day 4 of Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) 2005 started out with a keynote address by Ron Markezich, CIO of Microsoft Corporation. He began his talk describing his IT organization, and his four key objectives:

1. Be Microsoft's first and best customer (meaning - his IT organization deploys and runs all the enterprise products before they ship)
2. Run a world class IT organization
3. Protecting Microsoft digital assets (meaning - securing the Microsoft corporate network)
4. Driving productivity across our user base (meaning - Microsoft's manufacturing is R&D)

Ron then introduced Tom McCleery to come out and demo the MOM Connector Framework. Tom called the Operations Center in the morning asking no one to touch the MOM operator's console during Ron's keynote presentation.  Tom then performed his demo LIVE on our corporate MOM environment through a VPN connection (from his laptop).  Very cool!  Another cool demo was Calvin Keaton's showcase of Data Protection Manager (DPM). Tonyso summarizes DPM and how it was used this morning.

After Ron's keynote, everyone left for another day's learning experience (hands-on labs and breakout sessions).

When the day was over and we've achieved information overload, it was time to PARTY - the Adventuredomeā„¢ Theme Park Attendee Party! The Adventuredomeā„¢ is an indoor 5 acre, elevated theme park located in the Circus Circus Hotel Resort & Casino.  Woohoo!
