I don't think you missed anything here...

As part of our efforts to make DHCP better, integrating DHCP with AD is already one of the optimal approaches under consideration. Let's wait to see the most viable solution coming is future releases though.

Wouldn't i be possible to consider the following feature: Store the DHCP database content in an AD application partition (only replicates between DHCP servers). Similar like DNS database storage.
Wouldn't this bring more and real fault-tolerance to the DHCP servers (instead of using the 50-50% or 75-25% rule).  <>
Or am i missing something...
