Microsoft Live Writer 2.0 Beta
I just downloaded the new version of Live Writer, for some reason I was still using a pre-1.0 beta. For those of you who still use a browser to blog, using a dedicated application allows for a richer level of access to advanced features like drag 'n' drop as well as offline editing. Live writer also gives you the ability to embed maps, tables, and pictures with one click. Probably the most important thing is that it enables you to do WYSIWYG editing with almost ANY blogging service out there. At present it is automatically configured to post to my TechNet blog as well as my backup blog on WordPress. The auto-detection and auto-config ability is basically zero-touch meaning you don't have to be an IT admin to set it up!
