  • TechNet Azure webcast - now available for viewing

In Q1 we did a number of events in the Central Region of the US on the topic of Azure.  Budgets being what they are these days, we can’t go everywhere but fear not, we recorded the sessions from the Nashville, TN event.  Here are the links to those recordings.  You can watch the streaming version or download for offline viewing.  Since we also delivered a develop focused version in the afternoon of the event, I also included the link below to the MSDN session. TechNet Events Presents:

  • NEW Bigger Discount on TechNet Plus Subscriptions!

Whenever I present a live TechNet Event , I ask my audience to raise their hands if they are a TechNet subscriber . Usually about 1/3 of the audience raises their hand. Considering that this is typically a Microsoft-friendly audience, I'm a little shocked that there aren't more hands going up. The TechNet Subscription is such a great resource for IT Pros, for these reasons: Downloadable (or delivered, if you subscribe to the disks-delivered-to-you-monthly subscription), full-version software licensed

  • Interop Road Show Webcast - live this week on 5/6/2009

On Wednesday May 6th, we’ll be broadcasting the Interop Road Show .  Actually it’s going to be a bit of a simulcast.  Matt Hester will be in Downers Grove, IL doing a live delivery of the sessions, and we’ll pick up the audio and demonstrations via the magic of Microsoft LiveMeeting. In addition to having Matt present the sessions, we’ll also have Kevin Remde and Shawn Travers onsite helping to manage the questions and get Matt’s attention.  And that’s not all.  I’ll also be helping

  • Windows Server 2008 screencast - Core installation and initial configuration

Core to any server is the ability to service networks requests. In some cases, raw I/O is the goal. In other cases, simultaneous streams might be the goal. Windows Server 2008 Core is the engine for many of those cases. Do you need a graphical user interface to run a server? Not really so lets see what this new Core implementations is all about. Setup The installation of Windows Server 2008 Core is nearly identical to a regular server install. However, the end result is VERY different. As with the

  • Can your data center handle a hurricane? Ours can

Usually we discuss hurricane or typhoon force winds in the warm tropical climates of the world. Well, unless you haven't been paying attention, Seattle and surrounding areas got hammered about 24 hours ago and a lot of essential services are still being affected. People got killed and the area will take days to recover. I am sad about that. From an IT perspective, it's been interesting to watch from 1600 miles away. It has effected some of our services. We canceled the webcasts on Friday. My blog
