  • Next week is Windows Vista week on Channel9

Channel9 has a treat for everyone and it starts next week. Charles Torre of Niner fame will have a bunch of fascinating interviews and videos on the core technologies that make up Windows Vista. For instance, get the low down on Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC) from Jon Schwartz (UAC Architect/Developer) and Chris Corio(UAC PM). This will be a "Going Deep" episode that promises to, eh, go deep on how it works, why it is what it is, the problems UAC solves and the context of Windows usability.

  • Key learning's from last weeks launch events

As you know, we started our US Windows Vista, Exchange Server 2007 and 2007 Office System launch events last week. If you have not already signed up for one, go to http://www.microsoft.com/business/launch2007/signup/default.mspx and do it fast. Many of the venue locations are already at capacity and beyond wait listing. Last Tuesday, the MSDN and TS2 teams had some challenges in the morning getting some of the registration systems off and running. This of course created a bottleneck at the registration

  • Seattle wind storm - webcasts canceled

FYI, there was a rather serious storm last night in the Pacific Northwest area of the US. As a result, many people are without power and that is having an impact on a variety of services. As I understand it, we won't be delivering the 10 webcasts that were scheduled for today. A lack of power has impacted people, process and technology in this case. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'm sure you understand. As you can see, the server that hosts my blog pictures is down. I'm actually surprised blogs.technet.com

  • Watching the TechED 2006 action poolside

Get your frozen margarita, dual core laptop and favorite rubber ducky and head to the pool. Might as well since this year you’ll be able to watch and listen to the festivities on the http://VirtualTechEd.com website. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the show, seminars and “social” events are actually broadcast. I would recommend tuning into the opening keynote on 6/11 at 7pm EST. We’ll have Ray Ozzie, Bob Muglia and Chris Capossela showing off some kewl stuff.
