  • System Center Essentials 2010: Review, Case Study, and VMware Compete Video!

System Center Essentials 2010 isn’t even out of beta yet, and already it’s starting to grow in popularity. I’m currently sitting through an installation of it inside a Hyper-V R2 VM as we speak, but whilst it’s working away, I thought I’d give you a couple of useful resources to mull over… Firstly, what is System Center Essentials? Well, you can get all that info from my previous blog post, along with an overview video . For those of you’ve who’ve already climbed that rung of the ladder, the next

  • What’s a CP-901 and how did I get here?

Hello - my name is David Mills and I’m a Senior Product Manager on the Microsoft System Center marketing team. I’ve been with Microsoft for almost 10 years now and for the past four years, I’ve been involved in product planning and technical product management focused on the IT Management needs of midsize businesses. • System Center Configuration Manager 2007 – Service Pack 2

Na světě je konečně Service Pack 2 pro System Center Configuration Manager 2007. Popíši zde tedy pár informací o tomto SP2 a následně, jak vaši stávající infrastrukturu upgradovat. Proč vůbec implementovat SP2? Především řeší kompatibilitu s novými operačními systémy (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 a Windows Vista SP2). Podporuje také instalaci samotné infrastruktury Configuration Manageru na Windows Server 2008 R2 a tím samozřejmě rozšiřuje svou funkcionalitu v oblasti

  • Managing your Entire World

In the previous two posts the focus was on management of Microsoft Windows based products , either in a physical or virtual configuration, by using the System Center products. However, the modern datacentre is not all Windows based servers and contains a variety of different hosts that all require management. IT Departments therefore look for tools that can simplify this heterogeneous management task. For a number of years Microsoft’s management product, Operations Manager concentrated on just the

  • Monitor Mission-Critical Apps with Service Level Dashboard 2.0

Going forward, my role is becoming more and more focused on the management of virtualisation, and just today, I’ve already seen a couple of items in the blogosphere, including this one , that are highlighting management as the big battleground in 2010, and to be honest, I agree.  That’s not to say that the virtualisation layer isn’t important – far from it, VMware, Microsoft and Citrix to name but three, will still stress the importance of a stable, performant and robust platform to run your

  • Academy Live Session: Dynamic Data Center Toolkit for System Integrator Partners

There’s been a lot of talk recently about Cloud Computing ; what it is, how it works, who’s going to provide what and so on, and personally, I think things are starting to make more sense now.  Microsoft’s recently shown it’s hand (or I guess, some of it!) with Azure at the Pro Developers Conference 2009, and explained that it won’t just be a platform for developers, but will also provide IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) – I think for a lot of people, the IaaS bit came as a bit of a surprise,

  • City of Frisco (Texas) saves big with Hyper-V and NetApp

Hi, I'm Jim Schwartz, a director of virtualization solutions marketing in Redmond. A great example of why companies are adopting virtualization and the resulting benefits can be seen in Texas, at the City of Frisco . The city, one of the fastest growing in America, needed to scale a siloed IT infrastructure to accommodate data growth of 200-300% year. Check out this NetApp blog to learn how the City’s move toward virtualization resulted in substantial savings and maximized uptime for Exchange, SharePoint,

Puedes leer los detalles y acceder al Fix para instalarlo en: KB976246 - When you remove a virtual hard disk from a virtual machine in System Center Virtual Machine Manager
