  • Dev4Devs event in South Africa

Sometimes we forget what MSDN really stands for. And for sure “MS” is not the most important part of the acronym. MS D evelopers N etwork. The Devs4Devs event in South Africa that I had a pleasure to participate today – was an amazing proof that networking of technical community is the key to success (and not only to it). What I liked about the event – is that the majority of questions to presenters were answered by people from the auditorium (not only presenters!). Implication #1 The local experts

  • Panel discussion: So, you want to be an MVP ?

Since I just mentioned Andy Malone, one of our MVPs , I should also say that he got a session together in Berlin to talk about our “Most Valued Professional” program and asked me to to join the panel, which had two MVPs, an would-be MVP, an Ex-MVP working for Microsoft Greece, and two other Microsoft people who deal with MVPs. If you wonder what we’re talking about when we mention MVPs or think you might like to be one , this is well worth a listen   tweetmeme_style = 'compact'; tweetmeme_url

  • Geeks rule!

Not only the truth, but also the name of the event I participated in Nairobi, Kenya on Nov 25. Emmanuel, Stewart, team thanks a lot for making this happening! What I really liked about the event - is the feeling of a real hunger for information from the community. What I didn’t like – is that I got another prove that we, as Microsoft, are not doing a good job informing out tech guys about the ways of getting information. I heard a lot of these from the audience: “what do you mean I can download it

  • Interview: Cybercrime , defence against the dark arts.

When I was at Tech-ed in Berlin a couple of weeks ago I recorded an interview with Andy Malone, one of our MVPs, as a follow-up the session he ran on cybercrime. The results have now been posted , and apart from wishing the camera crew had told me just how awful I looked on camera I think it’s quite a good interview – my job when I do these interviews is to try get the “guest” to talk about what they know, and not show how much I know , this is Andy’s specialist subject, so it wasn’t hard to do.
