Being on the Tablet PC team ...

Greetings, my name is Koji Kato (yes Japanese). Some of us may have met before, in which case great to see (chat with) you again :) Here's a short casual bio to start things off :):)

Why do I work for Microsoft - I hate computers, they can be far better but they're not, so I'm in Microsoft to fix things.

Why am I in the Tablet PC team - Of all the computers I hate (love?), Tablet is what I like (hate?) the most. I dream of a day 10 years from now, when I hope my kids will be learning using a Tablet PC.

What am I doing now - I'm the lead program manager for the Tablet PC platform.

Where we may have met before -

   - I've been doing a couple of TechEds since then, so we may have met there

   - I attended the Tablet PC launch event at New York in 2002, being the somewhat strange Japanes program manager on stage w\ Bill Gates showing handwriting reco ; at the time I was working on the Office XP Pack for Tablet PC, may have met then

   - After joining Tablet, I did a couple of press & early adopter sessions where we may have met.

   - Prior to Tablet PC, I was working in the developer division and did a couple of MEC (used to be Microsoft Exchange Conference) sessions where we may have met.

   - Prior to that, I was working for the Japanese subsidiary of Microsoft, engaged w\ Office Designer (Solution Designer) - really ancient stuff ; would be surprised if you knew this product. May have met then.
