Facilitating Conversations Between Microsoft and the Analyst Community

Greetings!

My name is Robb Mapp and I’m the industry analyst relations manager for Microsoft’s System Center family. In my role, I work with industry pundits who focus on systems management product and instrumentation technology. These are all of the analyst firms you’ve come to know and love- Gartner, Forrester, IDC, EMA, RedMonk, MWD, FreeForm Dynamics and many, many more :-). As you can imagine, some days my role is lobbyist and other days it’s evangelist but the coolest aspect of this gig is helping facilitate conversations between Microsoft’s leaders and the analyst community, to help organizations understand how our solutions can best fit their infrastructure. To that point we recently filmed a webcast with David Williams, Gartner’s event correlation and analysis expert, and Eric Berg. In this webcast, David paints a picture of common challenges that IT Ops admins are currently facing and then Eric takes a turn at putting those challenges into context, specifically addressing how System Center Operations Manager 2007 is designed to enterprise scale for holistic systems management, from server to desktop.
