Here's an announcement that I almost missed due to the noise from TechEd and the Sysinternals site migration.

Looks pretty good.  You might want to consider placing a link to Mark's latest blog post on the main page.  I liked how you could, on the old web site, see if a new post had been made without actually going to the blog.

Just an idea.

It's a shame that all of the source code is gone.  While I understand that you want to limit people from using it in other programs illegally (or so I would assume), you might want to consider putting the source code for very simple programs back.  For example, the Streams program.  Source code for that program would probably help someone trying to build a program that could read the NTFS streams.  An example is always very helpful.

Anyways, I'm glad that the informative articles that were on the old Sysinternals web site are still accessible.  I was worried that some might be "censored" because they include information on the native APIs and such.  Seeing that MS has allowed these to stay has shown me that Microsoft intends to further the spread of knowledge.  Good job!

In regards to phray's comment, that is a shame.  You'd think that you'd at least be given the option of a search engine.  Also, changing it like that for no reason looks rather silly.

Come now, let's not go around changing things in well-written programs just to give your company an advantage.  Just my thoughts.

1) No Source Code?

2) No TDIMon?

Let me see..Microsoft expects us (developers) to be able to develop using minimal sample code [or buggy code, check out your LSP sample as it was]

What would be nice would be if now that there is no real point in keeping all the source code for these apps closed, you released them for us to play with.

Sure, if you worry about the implications of releasing the source code security apps, keep them behind bars [although that would just be security by obscurity].

But something like TDIMon?

But lets not dismiss you out of hand - perhaps you *will* act on the source code, its just taking you time.

It's great to see Sysinternals as a part of TechNet.  My day is spent switching from rereading Microsoft Windows Internals so much the pages are falling out; to Systinternals Site, then to TechNet.  How sweat it is to see this all in one area working I hope in concert with all our need at hand. Kudos to TechNet in reaching out and adding this much needed well designed site.

PS. Looking forward to the new Microsoft Windows Internals Fifth Edition (this of course is my assumption that you will be writing the next edition). Please don't leave out Windows XP, Server 2003, while adding in Vista.  I would like to see the migration process broken down.
