When will the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 be pushed to Windows Update?

Now there's a question I'm not completely unfamiliar with.  And for good reason, as this is an important update that includes a bunch of great fixes.  Unfortunately, if you're looking for a concrete date I still don't have anything for you, but I wanted to post a quick update to let you know we do realize the importance of this update and we're working hard to get it out there.  The best estimate I can give you today would be early next year.  Hopefully very early but there are still a couple issues to be worked out so until we're closer to being ready we won't know for sure.

So hang in there, it'll be out soon, and once I get a better handle on the date I'll be sure to post it here.

Why would this be pushed out unless it's an optional install? You don't want to install software if nothing uses it.
