Westy on Collaboration, Xbox in a box and his ‘love’ of Notes
Hello, I’m back from the Big Apple. So much for having a relaxing holiday, I spent the entire week running around various New York ‘must see’ sites and getting dragged into numerous shops. Anyway, the latest instalment of PTS-TV has made its way onto our screens; John Westworth talking about collaboration. I’m not sure when this went live so you may have seen it already but if not it’s well worth a look along with any of the other videos that you haven’t yet seen. Don’t worry, they are all between 10-15 minutes long (even with my waffling) so you’re not going to lose a big chunk of time from you busy life.
One of the things that John mentions is the free, yes I said free, to download templates for SharePoint. It seems that over time the message about Windows SharePoint Services being part of the value add of Windows Server 2003 (Basically; Got Server? You’ve got WSS!) has got out there but I still occasionally hear people saying something along the lines of “ok I installed it but now what?”. Well these templates are a good starting place for customers and partners to change what is sometimes referred to as Vanilla SharePoint into Raspberry Ripple or Choc Chip or whatever flavour your business needs!
Get the templates then go grab a spoon or ask a Microsoft Partner to add some sprinkles or other topping to the mix!
