Migrating MCMS database to MOSS 2007 - Duplicate template name

As discussed earlier I received a long list of warnings and errors when running the premigration check. The next entries in my list are a couple of warnings of this type:

To get a better picture I opened the event details page for this warning:

As you can see MOSS 2007 does not like it if templates in different galleries have the same name. MOSS 2007 migrates all templates into the Site Content Type Gallery. The hierachical structure of template galleries we knew from MCMS is gone in MOSS 2007.

If different templates in different galleries have the same name they would end up in the same gallery after the migration and an author would not easily be able to find the correct template.

So it is recommended to rename the templates before the migration to ensure that each template has a unique name.
