System Center Configuration Manager R3 will be available to customers in Q2 2010

Microsoft announced today that System Center Configuration Manager R3 will be available to customers in Q2 2010. They are currently taking nominations for TAP customers.

Release of System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2

Management is the key application for virtualization and the recent release of System Center Configuration Manager R2 along with System Center Operations Manager 2007 Management Pack for App-V 4.5 severs eliminate the need for separate tools to deploy, manage and track licenses for App-V 4.5 applications.

The R2 release of Configuration Manager includes key enhancements in the following areas:

· Application Virtualization Management

· Client Status Reporting

· OS Deployment

· SQL Reporting Services Integration

· Forefront Client Security Integration
