FYI: Windows 7 officially becomes Windows 7

OK, I know this isn't the type of thing I'd normally cover on this blog but since all of you will likely be affected by Windows 7 in one way or another I thought you might find this interesting in an FYI sort of way.  Apparently over on the Windows Vista blog they announced that Windows 7 will officially be named...wait for it...Windows 7!  Personally I like the new direction away from the so-called "aspirational" names but then I like simplicity and 7 has always been my lucky number.  What do you think about the new name?

You can read the original blog post at http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/archive/2008/10/13/introducing-windows-7.aspx.

With the beta bits coming out very soon now I'm sure you'll be hearing much more about the upcoming Windows 7 on their blog so stay tuned.
