This error is still occurring in my situation. I went through and verified the SPN registration is good, and it was. I have OpsMgr 2007 SP1 and am installing an agent onto a server 2003 server. I have tried the above, uninstalling the agent then running the MOM clean tool, and more but nothing is working. I still can't get this agent to talk to the RMS.

Any other ideas on what to try?

Big kudos Michael on this one! I was having a similar problem, and this blog was the only thing I could find on the net that was really helpful. In my case, the SPN failed to set because the dNSHostName and sAMAccountName were different (I have no idea how that happened!). I manually reset the attribute using dsa.msc so that the sAMAccountName matched the dNSHostName (which was the 'hostname' on the box itself) and the agent came up green about 3 seconds later :D

I probably would have abandoned our SCOM07 trial without this blog, so thank you!
