I've read that the report doesn't account for undocumented IE patches. If that's so, wouldn't it throw those numbers completely off? I'm trying to understand why undocumented patches to IE would not be included in a comparison between 2 browsers regarding security. For eg., if IE has 100 more undocumented patches per 3 months, the argument that IE is patched less (and therefore is less vulnerable) would not hold true.

I briefly looked at the data, for all the vulnerabilities confirmed and fixed (through an official patch rather than some third-party advisories), the average CVSS is 8.69 for IE7, 7.17 for IE6 SP2, whereas Firefox 2 has an average of 6.43

maybe CVSS is a more accurate measurement rather than simply categorized vulnerabilities into "high"/"medium"/"low" and count the number

Moreover, there are 2 vulnerabilities were scored as "10" for IE7, 6 for IE6 SP2, and only 1 for Firefox 2
