Safari's WebKit being replaced by Internet Explorer 7 Engine
I was hoping the official announcement would come out of Apple before I posted my last blog entry (Running Mac OS X on Virtual PC 2007), but now that the announcement is final, I thought I would share!

WebKit (the engine that powers Apple's Safari web browser) will no longer be used by Apple once Mac OS X 10.5 releases later this year. Instead, thanks to some hard work by the IE Development Team, the Trident engine (that powers Internet Explorer) will now power Safari as well. This is a natural progression of the cross-patent agreement I mentioned in my last post. Not only will you be able to run Mac OS X on your Vista Box, you will be able to view websites with the high level of compatiblity and performance you have come to expect from IE 7, all while browsing the Internets on your iLapBook. Huzzah!
