Hah, yeah I seen that yesterday and had to laugh.

You know though I am so suprised by Microsoft putting that list out. I mean yeah 15 years ago it was something different back then. Pop out on the IRC hitting real warez sections. Attempting to pull over something like 4 floppy disks of Autocad on your screaming 9600 modem praying there is no static in the phone lines tonight for that all night marathon of downloading. back when you didn't need anti virus, there was no spyware and Netscape 1.0 was the cats meow.

That was back when the internet was really just a free for all now you see 10 year old kids doing leet speak in games and stuff trying to be cool. When really they are just really working awfully hard to get a message across, back in the IRC days when you when you wanted to write your own chat module for fun you build in some simple replacement scripts on input this was back when really just programmers were on the internet. Kids now days actually type that in. T|-|4t$ $0 L4/\/\3

We actually created some kick ass textual methods of communication back then from macro scrollers loggers and so on. Now things taken for granted and something kids have just kind of adopted.

Of course, this just proves that the real world really has no clue what's going on in online gaming. Leet speak died a while ago, and good riddance.

Why do you think leet speak only applies to on-line gaming and more importantly - why do you think it died altogether a long time ago? I can assure you it is still alive and well in lots of places. :)
